Three Events, One Month – Summer Heats Up for Medocity

NEW JERSEY – Showcasing virtual care at the NJ Academy of Family Physicians Conference, the NJ Home Health and Hospice Annual Meeting, and the National AAPI Convention, Medocity is accelerating efforts to promote success in value based care. Care coordination and connectivity were prevailing topics at all three events resonating with providers from primary care to home health. The Medocity platform enables greater access between patients, caregivers and care professionals, and capabilities that generated the most interest included secure messaging, televisits and video conference calling.

“Connecting with patients in between office visits is important for treatment compliance and monitoring, symptom management, deploying education as well as patient engagement and performance outcomes” said Stephen Keeler, VP of Sales, while presenting to a provider group highlighting Medocity’s comprehensive integrated platform. “Approximately 80% of patients leave a provider’s office and are not able to remember what the provider told them by the time they leave the parking lot.”

Supporting Mr. Keeler’s argument, providers are increasingly leveraging patient-facing virtual care technologies to improve engagement and gather data through remote patient monitoring in a clear effort to address key value based care reimbursement metrics including readmission rates and ED utilization rates.

When challenged with what makes Medocity different, Cathy Guttman, VP Home Health, replied, “Payment models like CMS’s Chronic Care Management (CCM) are a stopgap aimed to be an important step towards population health management. A comprehensive platform like Medocity offers growth and flexibility while remaining centered around individualized patient centered care plans, symptom and medication management, and educational resources.”
